alpine preparation weekends

The Alps can be a hostile environment in which mistakes can at best mean failure on a climb and at worst, could lead to life threatening situations. Whether you are climbing with a group of friends or attending a course, good preparation is essential to help you make the most of your Alpine mountaineering holiday.

An intensive weekend, based in the Lake District, covers all aspects of the Alpine experience:

• alpine rope work: crevasse rescue, belays, moving together, abseiling, prussiking, hoisting systems
• avalanche theory
• guide books
• mountain hut etiquette
• acclimatisation
• alpine insurance

all backed up with videos and practical sessions. Philip will provide everything except the glaciers!
