As well as being a IFMGA Mountain Guide, Philip holds national qualifications in many other sports such as caving, skiing and kayaking.
He is also NEBOSH qualified in Health and Safety and with his other outdoor qualifications and experience, has the expertise to provide your organisation with the advice and training required to bring staff skills and safety management systems up to a high standard. He is International Safety Adviser for Impact International, which on a recent audit by Achilies, scored 95% for safety management.
Philip has many years experience of conducting safety audits and producing policies and risk assessments to prepare for audits such as Adventure Activities Licensing, BCU and Adventuremark.
Philip can facilitate your focus on the systems approach to safety; he can also help with the person approach by training staff and organising disaster scenarios to practice emergency planning and operation.
Philip is a Technical Expert for a number of organisations including
Tangent Expeditions and Impact International, where he has been International
Safety Adviser for over 10 years. He holds a NEBOSH qualification in
Health and Safety and has guided Impact through AALS Licensing, NGB
and industrial health and safety audits by training staff, providing
advice, producing risk assessments and policies and designing safety
systems. Tangent Expeditions, also recently passed BS8848, the British
Standard for overseas expeditions and fieldwork, under the safety advice
of Philip.
